Ron and I were sitting in back on our swing last week talking about our day. I talked about meetings, etc. and Ron talked about a couple of jobs and when he stopped in at the grocery store for a few items. I am sooooo proud of him.
He was in line and talking to this older lady who had gotten strawberries and refrigerated rolls. They talked about how good the strawberries were and how she and her husband loved them with the rolls.
When she got ready to pay, she did not have her wallet in her purse. She was very embarrased and said she would have to run home and come back to get them.
Ron stepped up and said no need, I'll pay for them. Needless to say she refused and did not want to accept the offer from a stranger. She had not encountered this (nor had the cashier) and was a little overwhelmed at the gesture. However she did finally accept and agreed that she would definitely "Pay it Forward" and thanked Ron for his generosity to a stranger.
Now the bill was only around $7 but the amount didn't matter...the feeling he had was priceless.
I hope we all have a chance to "Pay it Forward" and receive that wonderful feeling.
