Planning

The Casting for Recovery Planning Team will be meeting on the 25th. This will be a very important meeting as it is the first time that the group will develop individually lead committees for various areas, i.e. fundraising, outreach, volunteers, alumni, events, etc. etc.

We have our program coordinator who is the lead/decision maker, but this one person cannot do everything. The help she has been getting from the retreat staff has been wonderful but there is a definite need for more assistance. We do not want our program coordinator or the staff to burn out so with various committees created there will be more people to help...new ideas...etc.

The leads of these committees will work very closely with the program coordinator and the goals set for their individual committees of wonderful volunteers. More will get completed and the Arizona CFR group can grow.

We are also going to plan on an alumni event. Isn't that great!!!!! Have a lot of planning to go into this but really want our past participants to be able to gather and meet each other. So, more to come on this subject.

The creation of the AZ CFR newsletter is also very exciting. We are looking at perhaps twice a year with various news from each retreat, home office, events. etc.

A definite goal of this team is future growth to include another retreat. There are so many of our sisters out there that would benefit from a CFR retreat.

The entegrity of Casting for Recovery is of high importance. The sole reason for CFR is to give a weekend of healing and a lifetime of hope. It's not to make us (the team/staff) feel good individually (but what a great by-product!). It's for the Women who continue to get Breast Cancer, there is no cure and once you have faught that battle the ability to spend a weekend in the wonderful outdoors with fresh air and actually learn to fly fish, away from all those daily thoughts is beyond one's imagination. It is the best recovery program I have come across and you most definitely get hooked on this group.

If you want to know more about CFR, go to www.castingforrecovery.org.

So, after our meeting I will have a lot to talk about...more to come!! :):):)
